Spire Forecast API is organized in Bundles, each one grouping weather variables that are interesting for a specific domain. This brings simplicity and flexibility to have the best offer tailored for your business.

  • Basic Bundle

    The most commonly used weather surface variables:

    • Air temperature at screen level
    • Relative humidity
    • Dewpoint temperature
    • The eastward component of the horizontal wind at 10 meters AGL
    • The northward component of the horizontal wind at 10 meters AGL
    • Air pressure adjusted to mean sea level
    • Accumulated precipitation at surface level
    • Instantaneous wind gust speed at 10m

  • Maritime Bundle

    The Maritime bundle provides the following oceanographic forecasts at sea level:

    • Sea Surface Temperature
    • Ocean Currents (eastward component)
    • Ocean Currents (northward component)
    • Significant Wave Height

  • Upper Air Bundle

    The Upper Air bundle provides forecasts at multiple Isobaric levels:

    • Geopotential height
    • Temperature
    • u-wind component
    • v-wind component
    • Relative humidity
    • Vertical velocity
    • Absolute vorticity
    • Cloud water mixing ratio
    • Cloud ice mixing ratio

  • Thunderstorm Bundle

    For thunderstorm conditions, the following information is available:

    • Convective Available Potential Energy at whole atmosphere
    • Convective Inhibition at whole atmosphere
    • Lifted Index
    • Storm-relative helicity
    • Storm motion (eastward component)
    • Storm motion (northward component)
    • 0-6 km shear vector (eastward component)
    • 0-6 km shear vector (northward component)

  • Aviation Bundle

    The aviation bundle brings forecast to flight levels:

    • Air temperature
    • Relative humidity
    • The eastward-component of the horizontal wind
    • The northward-component of the horizontal wind
    • The horizontal surface visibility
    • The height (above sea level) where the maximum wind speed is found
    • The eastward component of the maximum horizontal wind
    • The northward component of the maximum horizontal wind
    • Potential severity of clear-air turbulence associated with wind shear (not due to mountain waves or convection)
    • Potential for aircraft icing

  • Agricultural Bundle

    For agriculture or soil, the following surface level forecast is available:

    • Skin (surface) temperature
    • Dewpoint temperature
    • Specific humidity
    • Soil moisture (0-10 cm, 10-40 cm, 40-100 cm, 100-200 cm)
    • Soil temperature (0-10 cm, 10-40 cm, 40-100 cm, 100-200 cm)
    • Latent heat flux
    • Sensible heat flux
    • Incoming shortwave radiation from above
    • Incoming longwave radiation from above
    • Outgoing longwave radiation from the surface
    • Outgoing shortwave radiation from the surface
    • Outgoing longwave radiation from the top of the atmosphere

    A bundle dedicated to wind and solar power, with:

    • The eastward and northward components of wind at 80m
    • The eastward and northward components of wind at 100m
    • The eastward and northward components of wind at 120m
    • Incoming shortwave radiation
    • Air temperature
